Do you know what is on your Fruits and Vegetables?

Did you know that the fruits and vegetables at your grocery store could be covered with bug killers, fungicides and other chemicals?

The 2012 Dirty Dozen and Clean 15 list of Produce has been released by the Environmental Working Group.  There have been a few changes from last year.   The three worst of the Dirty Dozen are: Apples ( Two years in a row!) with 98% of conventional apples having pesticides…right through the skin into the fruit! Celery is #2 because they test positive for 57 different pesticides! Then, it is  followed by Bell Peppers with over 15 pesticides! Please see the link below for your own copy and to view the list:

Environmental Working Group 2012 shopping guide

A new report released by the Alliance for Food and Farming is trying to discredit the Environmental Working Group’s Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce!

For the last two years – after receiving $180,000 in taxpayer money – this pesticide  AFF lobby front group has waged a vigorous campaign attacking the EWG guide and trying to downplay the risks of pesticide residues. In short, the pesticide industry is fighting tooth-and-nail to keep you from getting the information you need to keep your family safe and healthy.

But EWG won’t let that happen. They want to help you eat as many fruits and vegetables as possible and make sure you have the information – not industry hype – you need to make smarter, healthier choices when you’re deciding whether to buy conventional or organic food. That’s why we are sharing the  just released  Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce, featuring the Clean 15 and brand new Dirty Dozen Plus.

We tell our clients the we are not just what we eat, but what is in what we eat!
